The short version
phxEuchre is free and shows an ad between games. The ads come from Google AdMob, which collects some information from your phone or tablet to show and measure them (see Ads). If you buy Remove ads, the app stops using Google's ads software. Apart from ads, we only receive what you choose to send us as feedback. The game itself runs on your device and works without an internet connection.
What stays on your device
Your game in progress, your statistics (games, hands, calls and results), your settings and any player names you enter are saved only on your device. Uninstalling phxEuchre (or, on Android, clearing its storage in your phone's settings) deletes them. You can also reset your statistics from the app's Settings screen.
If your phone backs up apps to your Google account, Android may include this data in that backup, so it comes back when you set up a new phone. The backup belongs to your Google account. We never see it. You can turn app backup off in your phone's settings.
On iPhone and iPad, this data is included in your iCloud backup or your computer backup, if you use one, so it comes back when you restore to a new device. That backup belongs to you and your Apple ID. We never see it. You can choose which apps iCloud backs up in Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
What the app sends to us
Only feedback you choose to send. phxEuchre has no accounts and no analytics of its own. Your games, statistics and settings never leave your device, apart from the backups above. Ads are the one exception: they come from Google, as described below.
Ads
Between games, phxEuchre may show one full-screen ad from Google AdMob, never during a hand. To choose, show and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud, Google's ads software in the app sends Google:
- your device's advertising ID (on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking, see below) and an ID that is the same across one company's apps on your device (the app set ID on Android, the identifier for vendor on iPhone and iPad)
- your IP address, which can show your general location (such as your city or region, not your exact location)
- how you interact with ads, such as views and taps, and when the app is opened
- technical information such as your device model, operating system and app performance
Google handles this information under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and explains how it uses information from apps that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We don't receive this information about you, only totals such as how many ads were shown and what they earned.
Your choices. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and some US states), the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can change your answer at any time under Settings > Ad privacy choices. On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads).
On iPhone and iPad, the app first explains and then shows Apple's "Allow tracking?" question. If you choose Allow, Google can use your advertising ID to show ads based on your interests. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, Google doesn't receive the advertising ID and you see ads that aren't based on your interests. You see the same number of ads either way, and the game works the same. You can change your answer at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Ads in phxEuchre are limited to content suitable for general audiences.
Remove ads. A one-time purchase turns ads off for good on your Google account or Apple ID. Once it's bought, the app doesn't start Google's ads software at all.
When you send feedback
Settings > Send feedback lets you send us an idea, a problem or a question. When you tap Send, the app sends exactly what's on that screen, and nothing else:
- whether it's an idea, a problem or a question, and your message
- your email address, only if you type one in, so we can reply
- the app version, your phone's operating system and version, and its model, only if you leave "Include app and phone details" on (the screen shows exactly what will be sent)
Nothing from your games, statistics or settings is included. Your message goes through our feedback server, which passes it straight to our support team by email and doesn't store it. To stop the form from being misused, the server keeps your internet (IP) address in memory for up to an hour to count how many messages it has sent recently, and then discards it.
We use your feedback only to answer you and to improve our apps. We keep it in our support systems as long as we need it for that, and never sell or share it. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing [email protected].
Crash reports
If phxEuchre crashes and you've allowed your device to share diagnostics with Google or Apple, your device may send them a crash report. They share it with us without your name or contact details, and we use it only to fix the problem. You can turn this sharing on or off in your phone's settings.
When you buy
Remove ads is bought through Google Play or the App Store, under their own privacy policies. We don't receive your payment details. The app asks the store whether your account owns Remove ads and remembers the answer on your device.
When you email us
If you email us at [email protected], we keep your emails to answer you. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
Children
phxEuchre isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. We'll never start collecting new kinds of information without updating this policy and the app's store listing first.
