How it works
Talk instead of type, in the apps you already use
Outlook, Word, Teams, your browser, your line-of-business software, even a Remote Desktop session. If there's a cursor, phxScribe can type there.
Hold Ctrl + Win
A small bubble appears and shows your words as you speak. Prefer not to hold? Set it to press once to start and again to stop, or pick a different shortcut.
Talk normally
No need to say "comma" or "period". Pause, restart, say "um". Say "new line" or "new paragraph" when you want a break, and press Esc to cancel.
Let go
The text is cleaned up and typed at your cursor, usually within a couple of seconds, even after a long dictation.
Long dictations
Or just sit back and talk
Write a whole email, a project update or your meeting notes without touching the keyboard. Talk for as long as you need, up to 15 minutes at a time.
Hands-free
Press the shortcut once to start and once to stop, so you're not holding keys down while you think.
Paragraphs when you say so
Say "new paragraph" or "new line" and phxScribe starts one.
No long wait at the end
phxScribe transcribes while you talk, so even several minutes of dictation is typed within a couple of seconds of stopping.
Features
Clean text, ready to send
Polish
Basic removes "um", "uh" and repeated words. Enhanced also fixes grammar, formats lists and catches it when you correct yourself.
Send it to Sarah, actually, to Mike.
Send it to Mike.
Your names and terms
Add the client names, products and industry terms you use, and phxScribe spells them your way every time.
Caitlin → Kaitlyn
Spoken lists
Say "number one… number two…" and get a numbered list, ready for a ticket, an email or meeting notes.
Light or dark, your choice
Light and dark modes for the settings window and the dictation bubble, or let phxScribe follow your Windows setting.
Nothing new to learn
No separate app to type into and no copy and paste. Keep working where you are and use your voice when it's faster.
Stays out of the way
Lives in the system tray, starts with Windows, updates itself and frees its memory when you haven't dictated for a while.
Privacy
What you say stays on your computer
Most dictation tools send your voice to a cloud service to be turned into text. phxScribe does that work on your own PC, so client details, numbers and internal conversations stay with you.
Everything runs on your computer by default. phxScribe never sends your audio or text anywhere unless you turn on an optional cloud feature.
Processed on your PC
Your voice is turned into text on your own computer, not on someone else's server. It even works with the network unplugged.
No tracking
No analytics, no usage tracking and no crash reports sent back to us.
You decide what's kept
phxScribe keeps only your last five dictations, so you can recover text that landed in the wrong place. Turn that off and nothing is saved at all.

System requirements
What you need
| Windows | Windows 11, 64-bit (x64) |
|---|---|
| Processor | A modern processor with AVX2 support. Most Intel and AMD processors newer than 2013 support AVX2; however, Intel Celeron and Pentium processors do not. |
| Memory | 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended |
| Disk space | About 2.5 GB |
| Microphone | Your computer's built-in microphone works. A headset gives better accuracy. |
| Internet | Needed to download and activate. After that, dictation works offline; phxScribe checks its license about once a day when you're online, and keeps working for up to 90 days without a connection. |

Questions
Before you buy
Can I try it before I buy?
There's no free trial, but every purchase comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If phxScribe isn't right for you, you get your money back.
Is it safe to dictate confidential information?
Yes. By default, everything you say is turned into text on your own computer.
Can my company buy licenses for its staff?
Yes. We offer business licenses in bulk. Contact us with how many computers you need.
Why does phxScribe use so much memory?
Because phxScribe turns your speech into text right on your computer instead of in the cloud, it keeps its speech and Polish models in memory, about 2.5 GB with Enhanced Polish turned on. Memory saver, which is on by default, frees almost all of that when you haven't dictated for a while (10 minutes, or whatever you choose in Settings). The next time you press the shortcut, phxScribe starts listening right away and reloads in the background while you talk.
I got a new computer. Do I need a new license?
No. You can easily transfer your key to a new computer.
Does it work on Mac?
macOS support is coming soon.
Are there apps it can't type into?
Windows doesn't let normal apps type into programs running as administrator, so phxScribe can't type there. Everything else works, including Remote Desktop windows.
Does it need the internet?
Only to download it, activate your license, and check in now and then. Dictation itself works offline.
How accurate is it?
Very accurate with clear speech, but like any dictation it can mishear names and uncommon words. Add those to your vocabulary, and read the text before you send anything important.
